Maruti Jimny may not be performing as expected in the Indian market, but its craze is increasing a lot in the international market. Especially Suzuki Jimny 6×4 is in the news. It is based on the platform of a 3-door SUV and has been introduced with many special modifications. It is completely different from the 5-door Jimny sold in India and its demand is constantly increasing.
Features of Suzuki Jimny 6×4
The Suzuki Jimny 6×4 is actually a modified version of the 3-door Jimny that has been converted into an off-road pickup. This SUV was sold through Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers. The model was imported to the UK in 2019 and has since covered about 11,075 km.
How was the 6×4 SUV modified
This SUV has been modified by Mojo Fabrication. The company extended its chassis and body side panels and converted it into a 6×4 drive system. An additional axle was added to this SUV, making it 6×4 from 4×4. The modification uses not only the axle but also custom rear wheel arches and other authentic accessories. Apart from this, its pickup bed is a completely in-house custom job, which further enhances its off-road capability.
What is special in design and exterior
Suzuki Jimny 6×4 is special not only because of its axle configuration, but its design also makes it different from others. This SUV has been repainted in Audi’s popular Nardo Gray color, which makes it even more attractive. The front look of the SUV is similar to the classic Jimny, but the rear has been completely redesigned. Apart from this, it has been given big all-terrain tires and custom suspension, which makes it a great off-roading machine.
Interior and Features
Many major changes have also been made in the interior. It has black and light gray color quilted leather upholstery, which makes its look and feel premium. Apart from this, it has a Kenwood infotainment system with Apple CarPlay support, which gives users a better connectivity experience.
Engine and performance
The Suzuki Jimny 6×4 is powered by the same K15B 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 101 horsepower and 130Nm of torque. It has a 4-speed automatic transmission and the SUV comes with a part-time 4WD system. However, despite the 6×4 configuration, only the front and middle axle of this model generate power, while a third axle has been added for more grip.
Price and auction details
The SUV was auctioned on March 1, with a starting price of £30,000 (around ₹34 lakh). However, the highest bid reached only £23,000 (around ₹26 lakh), which was rejected. Now, it is listed for sale on eBay for £45,000 (around ₹50 lakh). In comparison, when the model was first launched in the UK in 2019, it was priced at just £18,999 (around ₹ 21 lakh).
