KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 will be discontinued in India, New 160cc models will be launched (Rumors)

If you were thinking of buying KTM 125 Duke or RC 125, then this news may be disappointing for you. KTM is soon going to discontinue its 125cc bikes in India and is preparing to bring new 160cc variants in their place. This step has been taken especially to give tough competition to Yamaha R15 V4 and MT-15. It is believed that KTM 160 Duke and RC 160 will be launched by mid-2025. Let us know what special things will be found in the new bikes.

Design and Features

Talking about design and features, the new KTM 160 Duke and RC 160 will be quite similar to their 200cc siblings in design and features. The 160 Duke will have an aggressive look like the 200 Duke, while the RC 160 will come with a sharp and aerodynamic fairing like the RC 200 and RC 390.

Engine

These bikes will get a new 160cc engine developed from the 200 Duke’s engine, which will produce around 19-20hp of power. This is much better than the 14.5hp of the older 125cc models and will also surpass the 18.4hp of Yamaha’s 155cc liquid-cooled engine.

Price

As for the pricing, KTM will keep the pricing competitive against Yamaha’s R15 V4 (₹1.83-2.10 lakh) and MT-15 (₹1.69-1.74 lakh), but don’t expect these to be much cheaper considering the price of the 125 Duke (₹1.81 lakh) and RC 125 (₹1.92 lakh).

Launch

The KTM 160 Duke and RC 160 could be launched by mid-2025, which would be before the festive season. The RC 160 could be launched alongside the Duke or sometime after that. With a boost in power and premium features, this new offering from KTM aims to offer better value and a strong option in the 150-160cc segment.

A statement has been issued by Bajaj Auto, stating that neither KTM nor Bajaj Auto has officially confirmed this news.
