Kia’s cars are very popular in India. Especially its SUV Kia Sonet is sold in thousands every month. Even in February 2025, more than 7,000 customers bought it. But, on the other hand, the sales of the company’s electric SUV Kia EV6 were quite disappointing. During this period, only 19 units of EV6 were sold.
Great features of Kia EV6
Kia EV6 is placed in the premium electric SUV segment, and it has advanced features full of technology. The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system of this car makes it quite high-tech. Apart from this, features like digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging and panoramic sunroof have also been provided in it, which give it a luxury feel.
Kia EV6 Price and Variants
The Kia EV6 is available in two variants in the Indian market and its price has also been kept quite premium.
- The ex-showroom price of the base variant is Rs 60.97 lakh
- The ex-showroom price of the top variant goes up to Rs 65.97 lakh
At this price, Indian customers are probably giving more preference to brands like Tesla or BMW, due to which its sales are decreasing.
There is no shortage of safety features
If we talk about safety, then Kia EV6 is no less than any SUV in this case. It has advanced safety features like 8-airbags, electronic stability control and ADAS technology. Apart from this, high-end features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring have also been provided in it, which make it a safe car on the road.
Battery pack and driving range
The Kia EV6 has a 77.4kWh battery pack. The company claims that this car can run up to 528 km on a single charge. It supports 50 kW DC fast charging, which takes only 1 hour 13 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%. But, if it is charged with a household charger, it takes about 36 hours to fully charge.
Which cars does the Kia EV6 compete with
In the Indian market, the Kia EV6 competes with electric cars like the BMW i4 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
BMW i4: Luxury brand tag and excellent performance make it a strong competitor
Hyundai Ioniq 5: It offers more features at a lower price than the EV6
